Women's & Children's Inpatient Care is Moving to One Location
Beginning October 8, 2025, Trillium Health Partners will provide all hospital care for women’s health, birthing patients, and children at Credit Valley Hospital. This change will continue until construction is complete on the future Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children, the first hospital of its kind in Ontario.
Please note: OB office care will not change

Are you having a baby this Fall?
- If you are receiving care from the Mississauga Hospital OB team, please continue to seek your care at Mississauga Hospital until October 8, 2025.
- After October 8, 2025, all babies will be born at Credit Valley Hospital.

What if I would prefer to deliver at the Mississauga Hospital?
After October 8th, 2025, there will be no delivery services at Mississauga Hospital. The unit will be repurposed for another service or to provide needed space during the construction of the new Peter Gilgan Hospital.
Will I have the same doctor after the move?
Yes.
For many years, the Obstetrical team at Mississauga Hospital has had an all call system to care for labouring patients. We will continue this same practice model when we move on Oct 8.
Your pre- and postnatal office appointments will not change.
If my due date is after October 8th, where will I have my delivery?
As we approach October 8, 2025, would it be easier if just I went to Credit Valley Hospital?
If it is before October 8, the Mississauga hospital will be fully functional. Please do not go to the Credit Valley Hospital before Oct 8, as they will not yet be adequately staffed for all of the Mississauga patients.
If you have an emergency please go to your closest hospital or call 911.
As of October 8, 2025, the full team from Mississauga Hospital will have joined the team at Credit Valley and the unit will be ready to assist you.
I am a patient of the Credit Valley Obstetrical Associates. Does anything change?
If you are currently seeing the team at CVOGA, there is no change to your care plan.
Where can I find information on Credit Valley Hospital policies?
Credit Valley Hospital and Mississauga Hospital have been united as Trillium Health Partners for nearly a decade. Patient care policies, visitor policies, postpartum care, food services, etc. are the same at both campuses. For more information please click here.
How do I register at Credit Valley Hospital?
Can we have a tour of the birthing unit?
Unfortunately, tours of our birthing units are not available at this time.
May we have a private room after delivery?
Private rooms are available at Credit Valley Hospital. As at Mississauga Hospital, they are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note: private rooms cannot be reserved.
Is this move permanent?
Yes and no.
The integration of the two obstetrical teams is part of Trillium Health Partners’ long-term strategic plan.
However, the future home of our program will be in the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children which will be within the newly built Peter Gilgan Hospital.
What will happen if I need to call an ambulance?
Don’t worry. Regional Paramedic Services are aware of the changes and will bring you to the correct hospital.
